Easterns and Jah Bass Teams qualify for Semis

CricketFilePhotoGSports Page — The crowds were out in huge numbers as per usual, as the Village Premier League (VPL) continued on Sunday 30th November.

In match one Easterns batted first and scored 94 in their allotted 10 overs and THRASH DEM OUT got as close as 84 runs from their 10 overs. Easterns was therefore assured a spot in the semi finals slated for December 14th.

In a much hyped match two, Empire engaged Jah Bass team.

Jah Bass team won the toss and took first knock and Tonito Willet started with a number of sixes which included three in one particular Trevin Nisbett over, but the young off spinner had the final laugh as he had him caught on the long on boundary attempting another maximum.

The Jah Bass team still managed a sizeable 144 from their 10 overs and the Empire team could only manage 104 in response.

Both teams have however done enough to get into the semi finals.

Next week Sunday 8th December will see some three teams battling for the final semi final spot and it may well come down to run rate.

The three teams are: Butlers; THRASH DEM OUT and Hanley’s Road Party Central.
