Sports Page — Nevis’ well known muscle man, Colin Lazarus, received a surprise visit from Junior Minister in the Ministry of Sports, Hon. Hazel Brandy-Williams on Friday 2nd October.
The Minister visited the champion athlete at his work site at Cades Bay where he is part of a construction crew.
Minister Brandy –Williams warmly congratulated him on his win in the heavy weight category in the CAC Body Building championships recently held in the Bahamas.
The Minister also admonished him to continue to work hard and put some system in place so that he could mentor and encourage younger athletes in the sport of Body Building.
She extended congratulations on her own behalf and on the behalf of the entire cabinet of the Nevis Island Administration and the people of Nevis.
Lazarus for his part, thanked the Minister for her kind words and took time to reminisce on the proud moment he felt when he stood at the winner’s podium and listened to the national anthem of St.Kitts and Nevis being played.
‘I was really proud. It was a special moment and it gave me goose bumps,’ he said.
It was another proud moment for the super athlete, as all of his work mates paused from their work to witness the friendly exchange between himself and Minister Brandy-Williams.
