Konris Refutes Akilah’s Lies

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 28, 2022 (SKNLP) – On Saturday, July 23, PLP candidate for constituency number 3 (C3) and current Minister of Health, Hon. Akilah Byron-Nisbett came to the Boyds Hardcourt for one of her pop-up meetings. Though it was difficult to hear what she was saying, a small crowd gathered and listened intently. She was rallying for votes in the part of C3 that voted for her in the 2020 Elections. The young and not-so-young believed her spiel and gave her the opportunity to become a fully-fledged Minister of Government. Prior to that, she was a Senator and Deputy Speaker starting in 2016.

There have been many versions of what happened during and after her pop-up presentation. However, the main takeaway is that Akilah was rejected mainly by constituents that voted for her in 2020. The reason is, that there are no accomplishments for her to hang her hat on. The Boyds playing field is still in the same unfinished state as it was, prior to her senatorship, candidacy,  and subsequent ministerial appointment in 2020. No new houses. No land. No road repair. No job opportunities. The villagers had been murmuring under their breath for two long years waiting for Akilah to do something that could resemble a political achievement. Instead, Minister Byron-Nisbett disappeared, until she was forced by an early election to come back to the same people she ignored to beg for their vote.

After her debacle in Boyds, she decided that her best strategy was to blame Konris Maynard, SKNLP candidate for C3. Her statement has been summarily dismissed by those present at the incident, and by Mr. Maynard at Labour’s Gospel Concert and Rally in East Basseterre on Sunday, July 24.

Konris Maynard as he dispels the notion that he instigated her rude awakening in Boyds. He pointed out that it was due to her negligence that the villagers of Boyds, West Farm, and Palmetto Point respectfully told her that SHE HAS TO GO.
