Bank of Nevis Ready for Ruby Anniversary

CHARLESTOWN – The Bank of Nevis Limited is gearing up to celebrate a remarkable milestone later this year — its 40th Anniversary.

The official anniversary date is December 9th, but celebrations will begin well before and continue into 2026, with a full calendar of pre- and post-anniversary events.

In preparation for this historic occasion, a Special Anniversary Planning Committee has been established to coordinate a year-long series of activities running from mid-November 2025 to August 2026.

Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Denrick Liburd, revealed that the first official event will take place on Sunday, November 16th, when management, staff, shareholders, and directors will come together for a Thanksgiving Church Service in Nevis.

Mr. Liburd also announced that all anniversary activities will be celebrated under the inspiring theme: “40 Years and Rising — Banking Beyond Boundaries.” He explained that activities will be held on both Nevis and St. Kitts, featuring events designed to engage customers, staff, shareholders, and the wider national community.

Details of these activities will soon be released in an official Calendar of Events. Reflecting on the journey, Mr. Liburd noted that this Ruby Anniversary comes at a time of continued growth and expansion for the bank— a transformation from a small, local financial initiative in 1985 to the second-largest commercial banking institution operating in St. Kitts and Nevis today.

He paid tribute to the bank’s founder, the late Dr. Simeon Daniel, who was also Nevis’ first Premier. Dr. Daniel’s vision, he said, was to establish a financial institution that would meet the specific needs of the people of Nevis, many of whom at that time struggled to access financing to start businesses, build homes, and improve their quality of life.

“This milestone holds great significance for all Nevisians,” Liburd stated, “because it shows that our founders did not allow small size or limited resources to stand in the way of progress and success.”

Over the past four decades, The Bank of Nevis has grown into a symbol of financial resilience and excellence within the OECS.

As the anniversary theme boldly declares, the bank will continue to rise higher— banking beyond boundaries.
