Educators Participate in Blended Learning Workshop

Basseterre: St. Kitts, May 05, 2021: Educators in the Federation participated in a workshop hosted by the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) in collaboration with Fulbright Scholar, Leslie Cordie on April 29 at the CFBC Poinciana Conference Room. The workshop focused on equipping educators with the necessary skills and knowledge to be better able to facilitate blended learning within the classroom.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Mr William Vincent Hodge on commending the Dean of CFBC Mrs Jacqueline Austin for the initiative said “I am indeed excited that this learning experience is taking place. I think that this is the path the college needs to be taking, where we can host short courses…to further develop and promote learning”.

Speaking about the importance and the need for continued professional development amongst educators Mr. Hodge stated, “We have to begin to change our mindset when it comes to professional development…professional development is needed to support our teachers and enable our teachers to be able to carry out the initiative. We are now seeing professional development as a very important, as a very vital part of the equation”.

This workshop is timely and beneficial as the covid-19 pandemic has altered the way teachers teach and students learn.
