Jerry To Strengthen Into Hurricane

BASSETERRE: Tropical Storm Jerry, located 355 miles east-southeast of the northern Leeward Islands as of 8:00 AM AST on October 9, 2025, is moving west-northwest at 20 mph with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph.

The National Hurricane Center reports Jerry may strengthen into a hurricane by late Friday or Saturday, potentially passing near or northeast of St. Kitts-Nevis tonight. A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for St. Kitts, Nevis, Antigua, Barbuda, Anguilla, Montserrat, and other nearby islands, signaling possible tropical storm conditions by Friday.

Residents should brace for 2 to 4 inches of rain, with up to 6 inches in some areas, raising concerns about flash flooding in urban zones and steep terrain.
