JNF General Hospital Grounds Team Proudly Debuts New Uniforms

BASSETERRE: The Joseph N. France General Hospital (JNF) has outfitted its hardworking grounds team with new uniforms, marking a positive step in supporting the essential staff who maintain the hospital’s grounds.

The new uniforms not only enhance the professional appearance of the team but also acknowledge their vital role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and healthcare workers alike. Hospital leadership emphasizes that this effort is part of a broader commitment to investing in all hospital personnel who contribute to delivering quality healthcare services.

With their new uniforms, the grounds team members proudly represent JNF’s standards of excellence and dedication to community health, reinforcing the hospital’s mission to foster a caring and efficient care setting for everyone who enters its doors.

JNF also took a bold step toward improving patient care and strengthening healthcare delivery with the official launch of Executive Leadership Daily Rounds, on April 29th, 2025.

Led by Permanent Secretary Mr. Curtis Martin, alongside senior health officials and supported by the Hon. Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Dr. Terrance Drew, this initiative signals a new era of responsive, inclusive, and quality-driven healthcare leadership.

Executive Leadership Rounds are daily walkthroughs conducted by the hospital’s top administrators and senior health team. Their purpose? To:

  • Connect directly with staff and patients

  • Listen to feedback, concerns, and ideas

  • Take immediate steps to improve services

  • Reinforce transparency, accountability, and teamwork

“This initiative is about more than checking boxes. It’s about showing up, listening, and acting,” said Mr. Martin. “It’s about building a culture of care, not just within our clinics and wards, but in the hearts of our people.”

From nurses to patients, ward clerks to technicians, everyone is encouraged to speak up. Staff have already begun to share constructive suggestions and praise—and the leadership team is responding in real time.

Building a Healthier Nation—One Brick at a Time
The launch of these rounds is part of a broader national commitment to:

  • Better health services

  • Stronger systems

  • People-centered care

As echoed by Dr. Terrance Drew, the rounds reinforce the Ministry’s pledge to transform healthcare from the inside out, ensuring that citizens experience quality care, dignity, and trust every time they walk through the hospital doors.
