Ministry of Education addresses Behavioural Issues in Schools
(EMU) St. Kitts — Learning Support Coordinator Josephine Claxton Richardson of the Curriculum Development Unit said her unit is working assiduously towards addressing behavioural issues that have been escalating in schools.
Stakeholders in child development and education associated with the Learning Support Programme are being engaged in three days of workshops on St. Kitts and Nevis that will address the issue of deviant and aggressive behavior in schools.
The first meeting for parents of children in the Learning Support Programme was held on Sunday (April 19) at the St Johnston’s Community Centre. The Meeting for Government High Schools in Nevis is being held today April 20, while meetings for St. Kitts High Schools will be held on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 at the Zion Moravian Church Hall on Victoria Road.
Ms. Claxton Richardson said she was very pleased with the ministry’s mandate to ensure that children have the best possible experience in schools and are part of a safe and secure environment.
