PM Drew Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

BASSETERRE – Prime Minister The Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew received the prestigious Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD 100) Lifetime Achievement Award, a recognition celebrated by his wife, Diani Prince-Drew, in a heartfelt Facebook post today. The award, presented during the 80th UN General Assembly, honors individuals of African descent for their lasting global impact.

Prince-Drew praised her husband’s dedication, noting, “Your commitment to service, purpose, people, and progress is shaping an enduring legacy.” This accolade underscores Drew’s leadership, highlighted by his recent UN address advocating for climate justice and the Sustainable Island State Agenda (SISA), which aims to secure St. Kitts-Nevis’ future by 2040 through sustainable energy and water security.

For residents, this honor elevates the Federation’s profile within the African diaspora, reflecting Drew’s efforts to address local challenges like hurricane resilience and youth empowerment through initiatives like the ASPIRE program. His focus on gender equality, with record female representation in Parliament, further strengthens community pride.

The award also signals growing international recognition of St. Kitts-Nevis’ contributions to global issues, from ratifying the BBNJ treaty to pushing for UN reform.
