Prime Minister Congratulates SKN Embassy in Taiwan

Taipei, Taiwan – Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew extended heartfelt congratulations to the Embassy of Saint Kitts and Nevis in the Republic of China (Taiwan) following two major achievements that have once again elevated the Federation’s visibility and diplomatic footprint in Taiwan.

Accordingly, following the recently concluded Taipei International Travel Fair (ITF) 2025, held from November 7th–10th, the Embassy secured two top awards for its outstanding promotion of the St. Kitts Music Festival and the Nevis Mango Festival, signature cultural events hosted during the summer season. The Embassy received the Best Creativity Award for an eye-catching and culturally rich booth that successfully highlighted the unique appeal of both festivals as an attractive travel package for Taiwanese visitors. The Embassy also captured its third consecutive Best Performance Award, following captivating performances of folk music, dance, masquerade, and steel pan by nationals living and studying in Taiwan

Prime Minister Drew praised the Embassy’s continued excellence, noting that “These awards speak to the talent of our people, the creativity of our team in Taiwan, and the strength of our cultural identity.”

In addition to the ITF accolades, the Embassy recently earned yet another distinguished honour. On October 31, 2025, at the 79th Golden Merchant Awards Ceremony in Taipei, the Embassy was presented with the “Most Outstanding Foreign Office/Embassy” Award. This recognition acknowledges the Mission’s exceptional contribution to strengthening bilateral cooperation between Saint Kitts and Nevis and Taiwan through enhanced trade, investment, business linkages, and cultural diplomacy.

Ambassador H.E. Donya L. Francis accepted the award alongside members of his team, expressing gratitude to the General Chamber of Commerce of Taiwan and reaffirming the Embassy’s commitment to national service.

The Government extends warm congratulations to Ambassador Francis and his entire team, as well as the nationals in Taiwan whose vibrant performances contributed to this year’s wins. Their collective efforts continue to strengthen the Federation’s global reputation as a proud, creative, and forward-looking nation.
