(EMU) Staff of Project Strong have spent the past two days preparing to make future interaction with students more meaningful and positive.

The team of individuals who jointly assist young persons in the remedial stream with an opportunity at success through skills development participated in the activity on Monday November 25 to Tuesday November 26 under the theme “Striving to Achieve Excellence through Capacity Building.”

Topics discussed by various facilitators included Lesson Planning, The Role and Function of the Effective Teacher, Professionalism and Character Building, Becoming a Supportive Teacher as well as Classroom Management.

Project Strong Director Mr. Dale Phipps told the Education Media unit this is just one step in a long term strategy to boost morale and raise the profile and effectiveness of the programme.

Facilitators included Dr. Moya Rowtham-Francis, Mr. Starret Greene, Reverend Deslyn Belle Watson, Mrs. Lisa Pistana, Mr. Francil Morris, and Mrs. Valerie Richardson-Mason.

The event was held at the Organization of American States Conference Room.
