Social Security Launches Online Insured Person Registration

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JUNE 3RD 2013 — On Sunday February 17th, 2013, the Board, Management and The St. Christopher and Nevis Social Security Board is committed to the delivery of excellent customer service thus our thrust to create service solutions that would meet the needs of our clientale.

Today, the Social Security Board is pleased to announce its newest service to the cadre of e-services solutions, its Online Insured Person Registration (e-registration).

This new service allows employees and self-employed persons desirous of obtaining a Social Security card, whether new or replacement; the opportunity to apply via the web. The application however, does not absolve the user from validating the application, by presenting requisite documents at our offices.

On Friday May 31st, the first online registrant, Ms Aisha Caines, visited Social Security’s Head Office to complete her registration. Our Customer Service Agents were able to verify the application within minutes and Ms. Caines received her new Social Security Card as well as a token of appreciation presented by Mrs. Carla Seaton, Registration Officer and Mr. Abendigo Rogers, Program Developer.

This new service reduces the amount of time the applicant would spend in our offices to complete the registration form, it allows faster processing for the issuance of the Social Security card/number as well as offers greater convenience for customers, since the site can be accessed anytime, anywhere by logging on to the internet.

The portal can be accessed from the Board’s official web site at www.socialsecurity.kn.

Other services under the e-services banner include the c3 Wizard, Electronic C3 and web portal. Future developments will include online payments and submission of claims to Social Security.
