St. Kitts-Nevis to Host 50th CARICOM Summit

BASSETERRE — The Federation is set to take centre stage in Caribbean diplomacy as St. Kitts prepares to host the 50th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), scheduled for February 24–27, 2026.

Presidents, Prime Ministers, Ministers of Foreign Affairs, and regional officials will converge on the twin-island nation under the theme “Beyond Words: Action Today for a Thriving, Sustainable CARICOM” — a call to move from rhetoric to results.

The meeting falls under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister The Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, who holds the Chair of the Conference from January through June 2026.

CARICOM Secretary-General Dr. Carla Barnett has outlined key areas for deliberation, including implementation of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME), strengthening regional agriculture and food security, and deepening engagement with third states to expand economic growth across the Community.

For the Federation, the stakes extend beyond the conference table. Hosting the landmark 50th summit enhances diplomatic engagement, strengthens bilateral and multilateral relationships, and signals St. Kitts and Nevis’s capacity to lead at the highest levels of regional governance.

With delegations already preparing to arrive, St. Kitts-Nevis is ready for its moment on the regional stage.
