’25 Most Remarkable Teens in St. Kitts’ hailed by PM Douglas

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, NOVEMBER 22ND 2011 (CUOPM) – The “25 Most Remarkable Teens in St. Kitts” were hailed Tuesday by Prime Minister the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas Tuesday ahead of a Special Sitting of the National Assembly on Wednesday.

“This is an accolade that I feel very, very proud of in our Nation today,” said Prime Minister Douglas as he concluded another live edition of “Ask the Prime Minister.”

He also recognised and congratulated the 75 other young persons who were nominated.

“We look forward to Wednesday’s Special Sitting of the National Assembly when we will say more about their achievements at the presentations,” said Prime Minister Douglas.

The youths were nominated in various categories including Courage to Overcome, Music, Leadership, Civic Involvement, Most Promising Teen, Community Service and Spiritual Commitment.

The 25 Most Remarkable Teens in St. Kitts programme is modeled after a similar programme in California, USA. Ms. Howard’s decision to replicate the award initiative was based on an expression by the Minister of Youth Empowerment Honourable Glenn Phillip to raise the profile of positive youth doing remarkable things.

The Sitting of Parliament begins at 7:30 P.M. and will be carried live on ZIZ Radio and Television.
