6 winners receive BlackBerry Smart phones with free Data from Digicel

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS (March 6th, 2012) – Before a small, appreciative crowd of Carnival enthusiasts, the winners from Sugar Mas 40:40 were presented with their prizes and awards, at Independence Square in St Kitts. Digicel -The Bigger, Better Network was also present at the prize-giving ceremony on Friday 2nd March, 2012 to be a part of the evening’s proceedings. Winners of the Beaumont Park Soca Monarch Competition were all presented with BlackBerry handsets from Digicel.

Participants in both the Power and Groovy segments, who placed in the top three positions, were each presented with the latest BlackBerry Torch handset in the St. Kitts and Nevis market. To ensure that each winner gets the most out of this touch-screen BlackBerry 9860 Smart Phone, Digicel awarded them each with six (6) months complimentary Unlimited Data. This BB Data service means that the recipients are able to browse the World Wide Web and social networking sites such as Facebook, chat on BlackBerry messenger and check emails right at their fingertips. The prize package, worth over $14,000 was presented by Digicel’s Marsha Chatterjee, Marketing Manager.

During Sugar Mas 40:40, the Digicel-sponsored Red Devils J’ouvert Troupe was awarded “Best J’ouvert Troupe”. Also, the nightly entertainment spot, Party Central – a Digicel-sponsored event provided party goers with fun and clean entertainment throughout the Carnival season, was packed with nightly Digicel giveaways. The Digicel Haynes-Smith Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant remains a staple on the Carnival lineup, attracting both local and regional supporters.
