Aquatic Sports Attract a Large Crowd at Ferry Terminal

ZIZ News…April 25 2011 – The 53rd annual Basil Henderson Aquatic Sports meet attracted a huge crowd on Easter Monday at the Ferry Terminal in Basseterre.

Hundreds of person gathered to enjoy the festive atmosphere on the public holiday.

Before the events started Lloyd Lazar gave some brief remarks to officially open the day’s activities which included events such as kayaking, water skiing, traditional swimming races, the fetching of the ham and the climbing of the greased pole.

Many participants looked forward to winning the prizes displayed at the event along with exhibition youth boxing matches.

There was also a guest appearance from Tunka Abdorama, performing his magical arts, and co-star Garry’s Limbo dancing and fire-eating.
