Eight Nationals Honoured

(ZIZ News) — Family members and friends came out to Government House on Friday morning for an investiture to honour eight nationals for their contributions to society.

Governor General, His Excellency Sir Edmund Lawrence presented the Medal of Honour to Robert Jeffers for his contribution to policing.

Errol Maynard received the Order of the British Empire for his contribution to public service.

Osmond Petty received the Member of the British Empire for his contribution to public service

Veronica Phillip was awarded the Member of the British Empire, for her contribution to education.

Hilda Byron also known as Veronica Byron received the Medal of Honour for her contribution to small business and community service.

Brenda Boddie-John was awarded the Medal of Honour for her contribution to industry and commerce

Kenneth Martin received the Medal of Honour for his work in agriculture and community service and Gloria Mills received the Medal of Honour for her contribution to education.

The ceremony honoured those listed in the Independence 2013 Awards and 2014 New Years Honours from the Queen.
