GG meets with seniors

(ZIZ News) — On Tuesday morning, Governor General His Excellency Sir Tapley Seaton, GCMG, CVO, QC, JP met with the Seniors Association at the Wesley Methodist Church Hall.

During his presentation His Excellency focused on the importance of one’s heritage, which fell in line with activities to mark History and Heritage Month.

He specifically referred to former Governor the late Sir Probyn Inniss who encouraged everyone to own his or her heritage.

“The late Sir Probyn Innis used to always extol that virtue, in terms of saying ‘you must become owners of your heritage’. You can’t wait for other people to come in an highlight it. We need to highlight it for ourselves,” he said.

The enagement also included a discussion with the club members on various aspects of our nations history and historical components.
