Heldens Estate Condo Resort & Residences will be constructed at a cost of US$40 million

Basseterre, St. Kitts, (CUOPM) — The Heldens Estate Condo Resort & Residences will be constructed at a cost of US$40 million.

This was disclosed Wednesday by Chairman of the White Gate Development Corporation, Mr. Thomas Williams, who made the disclosure at the signing of the land purchase agreement with CEO of Caribbean Galaxy Real Estate Corporation, Ms. Ying Jin.

“It is an 8 acre development which will involve spending over US$40 million in putting together a development which accommodates tourism in these following aspects – condominium development, hotel facilities and the recreational activities which go with this type of development such as beach facilities, swimming pools, bars etc,” said Mr. Williams.

He said the project will involve in its formative and construction stages a number of persons from the immediate area, but particularly of the entire island.

“Our young professionals in engineering, construction and the various other fields associated with this endeavour and of course after that there will be the regular employment in its operations to the best of our abilities here on island,” said Williams.

He said St. Kitts and Nevis has the training and the experise and will utilise all the necessary local resources.

“I think we have the training. We have the expertise and now we have the support which we utilize all resources,” said Mr. Williams.

Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Real Estate Corporation with offices in the Sands Complex, Ms. Ying Jin said the company is honoured to invest in St. Kitts.

“We feel the passion of the local people here through the conversation and cooperation with the White Gate. We would have a deeper cooperation with the White Gate through the Heldens project. We would establish a new resort in the area of White Gate through this cooperation because this area gives us a lot of hope in the future,” she said through an interpreter.

“Together with our cooperation in the project we will assure that this project will increase the employment in the area and tourism and also develop the economy of St. Kitts and Nevis,” said Jin, adding: “We would spear no efforts to make this project the best. We really appreciate the hopes and encouragement from the White Gate.”

The Heldens Estate Condo Resort & Residences will see the construction of over 200 condos, apartments and villas.

It will add to the Kittitian Hill development, which had a soft opening on July 10.

Prime Minister Douglas is pleased to see St. Kitts and Nevis attract more and more high-end development projects leading to sustainable employment and business opportunities for many local people and businesses.

He also said he envisaged many persons who have been trained under the People Employment Programme (PEP) will continue to find long-term employment at Kittitian Hill and at Heldens Estate Condo Resort & Residences in the not-too-distant future.
