Hon. Marcella Liburd Meets with Residents of New Road, Pine Garden and the Shadwell area

Basseterre, St. Kitts — Residents of New Road and the Pine Gardens/Shadwell area were given the opportunity to have their say about park projects to be implemented in their area.

The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Social and Community Development whose Minister, the Hon Marcella Liburd, is also the Parliamentary Representative for the area.

Residents were informed of and shown a pictorial perspective of the New Road Family Park and told about the football field for the Pine Gardens/Shadwell area. Residents made their input and were generally happy that a first-class park will be located in their area.

The New Road Family Park will be the first of its kind in the region and will cater to the entire family including our children and our elderly who are without a safe and proper place for recreation and relaxation.

The project is sponsored by the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis and the Government of the Republic of China on Taiwan.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the New Road Family Park will take place on Wednesday 22nd January 2014 at 4:45 p.m. All residents are invited.
