Human Rights Essay Competition

ZIZ News…June 25 2012 — The Ministry of Health National AIDS Programme (NAP) of St Kitts and Nevis is continuing its drive to reduce stigma and discrimination in our society by embarking on an intense Human Rights Campaign sponsored by U.N. AIDS and PANCAP. The theme for this campaign which will run until the end of July 2012 is “Making St Kitts-Nevis Better … Equality for ALL”.

In order to promote the Human Rights agenda as articulated by the United Nations, the campaign will include community consultations/town hall meetings, lectures and presentations to small target groups and an essay competition. The Ministry of Health (NAP) takes this opportunity to invite all residents of St Kitts-Nevis to enter the essay competition which will run from June 25th until July 20th 2012.

There will be three categories for the competition, 9-12 years, 13-17 years and 18 years and above. Winners in each category will receive attractive prizes including Apple iPads and Kindle Fires. The essay topics will focus on the promotion of Human Rights in the Federation, and these can be found along with the competition rules in the local newspapers, on SKNVIBES and on Facebook at the Human Rights SKN page.

You can also obtain a copy of the rules and topics from the National AIDS Programme at the Ministry of Health offices in Bladen Commercial Development.
