Investigation of a traffic accident which left one hospitalised

ZIZ News…27th May, 2013 — Stapleton Police Station is investigating a traffic accident which occurred on along a road at Cedar Grove, St. Peter’s Village on Friday 24th May 2013 which left one (1) person hospitalised. Initial investigation revealed that the vehicles involved in the accident are motor pickup P1818 owned by the Government of the Federation attached to the Water Dept and driven by Mervin Finley of Lower Monkey Hill and motor jeep P1699 owned and driven by Maria Comberbatch of Cedar Grove. Motor pickup P1818 was travelling along a road at Cedar Grove, and motor jeep P1699 came from a road on the right of P1818, and collided to P1818.

Meanwhile, a traffic accident occurred along the Island Main Road at Cades Bay involving PA3726 owned by Courtney Druport of Ramsbury and driven by Heeramani Patra of Rumours Road Newcastle. Investigation revealed that at about 09:1hrs on 21st May, 2013 Heeramani Patra was driving P3726 from Charlestown towards Newcastle Village and as she got in the area of Cades Bay she suddenly became ill and ran off the road into an eight feet deep Ghaut on the sea side of the road. Heeramani Patra was unconscious and was transported to the Alexandra Hospital in the ambulance. She was detained for observation.

In other news, police on Nevis are investigating an incident in which motor pick up P9990 which is owned by the Nevis Island Administration and was reported missing on Tuesday 21st May 2013, and recovered in a bushy area at Hickman’s Village Gingerland on Wednesday 22nd May 2013 with its interior burnt. The vehicle was removed and transported to the Charlestown Police Station compound.
