ZIZ News — After months of anticipation the St. Kitts Music Festival has finally revealed its local acts.
This year’s festival will feature Ashkenaz, Az’ 1 Band, Hi Light, Fantastic Tunda, St Kitts Most Incredible (SMI), Reigning Groovy Soca Monarch, Deli Ranks and King Meeko.
Road March Champion for 2013-2014, the Small Axe Band, will also be performing once again.
Ashkenaz, Az’ 1 Band, Hi Light, and Fantastic Tunda will be making debut performances.
Local songwriter and producer, Hi Light, shared how he felt about being added to this year’s lineup.
“It’s just a good opportunity and a good feeling to be on the music festival and it’s a special moment for me,” he said.
Production Manager, Adrian Lam, disclosed that the committee chose those artists based on specific criteria.
“The two criteria we use are artists who have out music… it doesn’t have to be on an actual physical CD original music, but once they have out music, whether on the net on radio that is one the criteria. The second one is we go to see their shows and make sure that they meet the standards that we are looking for,” he said.
The artists signed official contracts on Wednesday morning at a media and sponsorship breakfast held at the St. Kitts Marriott.
The 18th annual St. Kitts Music Festival has been dubbed an experience like no other and will run from June 26 to 28 at the football stadium at Warner Park.
