crn of market and cayon, marcella Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 31, 2016 (RSCNPF): The High Command of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force met in a conference with the Cabinet of Ministers chaired by Prime Minister Dr the Honourable Timothy Harris on Saturday (October 29) to report on recent incidents of violence that have occurred in the Federation and to outline the way forward.

In the meeting, which was attended by other National Security partners, the Commissioner of Police Mr. Ian M. Queeley outlined a Police Service’s plan for the near term to ensure the safety and security of citizens in the Federation.

As a result, the Cabinet conveyed that it had received assurance with regards to the efforts of both the Police Service and the Security Forces in their drive to ensure Citizen Safety.

Following the meeting the Prime Minister visited the husband of the victim who had sadly succumbed to her injuries as a consequence of the armed robbery which took place on the 28 October and also telephoned other members of her family to express his condolences.

Both the police and the Cabinet are deeply concerned at the current level of safety and security, and whilst every effort is made to address this, they are acutely aware that successful prevention and detection of crime relies heavily on the cooperation of the public. To this end the police continue to urge the public to step forward and save a life or solve a crime by providing any information they feel can assist, however small or insignificant this may seem.
