(ZIZ)– Garfield Jeffers of Cotton Ground was formally arrested and charged for Possession of Cannabis, which was committed on 6th June 2014.

Meanwhile, Loretta Herbert of St. Paul Village was convicted for failing to comply with Traffic Sign which was committed on 1st August 2012, and cautioned.

Ruan Wilthshire of Sandy Point was convicted for Careless Driving which occurred on 4th February 2014, and cautioned.

Cion Phipps of Molineaux Extension was convicted for driving without insurance, driving without due care and attention, and driving without a valid licence, which were committed on 27th February 2014. He was fined $150.00 for driving without insurance which is to be paid in six (6) weeks or will serve one (1) month in prison, $350.00 for driving without due care and attention which is to be paid in three (3) weeks or will serve one (1) month in prison, and $100.00 for driving without a valid license which is to be paid in (7) days or will serve fourteen (14) months in prison.

Howard Warner of Sandy Point was convicted for Careless Driving which was committed on 22nd January 2014, and fined $300.00 which is to be paid in three (3) months or will serve fourteen (14) days in prison.

Keston Gumbs of Parson’s Village was convicted for Careless Driving which was committed on 5th October 2013, and fined $500.00 which is to be paid in five (5) weeks or will serve five (5) months in prison.

Albert Davis of Old Road was convicted for Careless Driving, which was committed on 17th November 2013, and cautioned.

Homyuing Lee of Bird Road was convicted for driving without due care and attention, driving without a valid licence and driving without insurance which were committed on 26th October 2013. He was fined $100.00 for driving without due care and attention which is to be paid in to (2) months or will serve two (2) months in prison, $100.0 for driving without a valid licence which is to be paid in fourteen (14) days or will serve fourteen (14) days in prison, and $750.00 for driving without insurance which is to be paid in two (2) months or will serve fourteen days (14) days in prison.

In other news, the Traffic Department is investigating a traffic accident which occurred along Wellington Road in the vicinity of Florence Nightingale Street on Thursday 5th June 2014 about 2 :10pm, which resulted in six (6) persons being transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Initial investigation reveals that P2203, owned by Government of the Federation and attached Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police and motor omnibus H8501 were involved in the accident. The driver and two (2) passengers of H8501 and three (3) police officers were transported to the hospital.

Commissioner CG Walwyn takes this opportunity to advise roads users, and more so motorists to give way to emergency vehicles when their emergency apparatuses are turned on. Failure to adhere to these warnings and pull to the side of the road is an offence and offenders will be prosecuted.

The Commissioner would like the general public to understand that in giving way to these emergency vehicles you might be assisting in saving the life of loved one.
