(ZIZ News) — Arrest

Rodney Jeffers of Lime Kiln Project was formally arrested and charged for breaching a Restraining Order, which was committed on 6th October 2014.

Ryan Warner of Prickley Pear Alley was formally arrested and charged for Receiving, which was committed on 11th September 2014.

Shellana McPherson of Brown Hill was formally arrested and charged for Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply, which were committed on 3rd October 2014.

Firearms and Ammunitions Seized

A joint operation conducted between The Nevis Division of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and HM Customs and Excise Department on Nevis lead to the discovery and confiscation of two (2) firearms and a large quantity of matching rounds of ammunition on Monday 6 October 2014.

Information reaching the police lead to the planning and execution of the highly successful operation. Commissioner CG Walwyn therefore takes this opportunity to thank all who were instrumental in providing information to the police and encourage every law abiding citizen to continue to be vigilant and report suspicious activities and persons to the police and other relevant bodies. Commissioner CG Walwyn therefore iterated, “with these firearms and ammunition being taken off the streets some life or lives has or have been saved. The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force continue to partner with other law enforcement bodies, local, regional, and international, and the private sector in order to ensure that our Federation remains a safe place which will promote economic stability”.

Court Convictions

District “B” Magistrate’s Court

Leroy Bazza James of Saddlers was convicted for Quitting Vehicle Without Stopping Engine, and fined $100.00 which is to be paid by 24th October 2014 or in default will serve (7) seven days in prison with hard labour.

Tresselle Gilbert of Old Road was convicted for Driving Without Seatbelt and Driving With Front Seat Passenger Without Seatbelt, and fined $100.00 for each offence which are to be paid by 24th October 2014 or in default will serve (14) fourteen days in prison for each offence with hard labour.

Kris Rogers of Mount Idle, Sandy Point was convicted for Riding a Pedalcycle Without a Bell and Failing To Comply With Traffic Sign, and fined $100.00 for each offence which are to be paid by 24th October 2014 or in default will serve (14) fourteen days in prison for each offence with hard labour.

Lanesta Phillip of West Farm was convicted for Driving Without Seatbelt, and fined $100.00 which is to be paid by 24th October 2014 or in default will serve (14) Fourteen days in prison with hard labour.

Meil Richards of Cleverly Hill Sandy Point was convicted for Using Cell Phone While Driving, and fined $150.00 which is to be paid by 24th October 2014, or in default will serve (7) seven days in prison with hard labour.

Everon Elliott of Newtown Ground was convicted for Riding a Pedalcycle Without Bell, and fined $100.00 which is to be paid by 24th October 2014 or in default will serve (14) fourteen days in prison with hard labour.
