St. Kitts and Nevis PM joins Bureau of CARICOM Heads of Government

ST. KITTS, JANUARY 5TH 2011 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas has joined the Bureau of the CARICOM Heads of Government as Incoming Chairman with effect from January 1st.

According to the Georgetown-based CARICOM Secretariat, the Prime Minister of Grenada, the Hon. Tillman Thomas assumed the chairmanship of the CARICOM Community Heads of Government Conference from January 1st 2011 for the six-month period January 1st 2011 to 30th June 2011. He replaces the Outgoing Chairman, the Hon. Bruce Golding of Jamaica.

The Honourable Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, becomes a Member of the Bureau, as Incoming Chairman of the Conference for the six-month period commencing 1st January 2011.

The Bureau of the Conference for the period January 1st 2011 to June 30th 2011 now comprises the Honourable Tillman Thomas, Prime Minister of Grenada (Incumbent Chairman); the Honourable Bruce Golding, Prime Minister of Jamaica (Outgoing Chairman); the Honourable Denzil Douglas, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis (Incoming Chairman); and the Secretary-General, Caribbean Community.
