St. Kitts and Nevis sends message on St. Vincent’s Independence anniversary

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, OCTOBER 27TH 2011 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas is among Caribbean and world leaders sending congratulations to St. Vincent and the grenadines on that country’s 32nd Anniversary of Independence.

“It is my heartfelt wish that St. Vincent and the Grenadines and by extension its people enjoy the many commemorative activities surrounding this year’s Independence celebrations and reflect on the prestigious heritage and culture of their country,” said Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas in a message to his Vincentian counterpart. Dr. the Hon. Ralph Gonsalves on behalf of the Government and people of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Prime Miniser Douglas hoped that “God’s blessings maintain sway over all future endeavours” and express certainty “that the citizens of St. Vincent and the Grenadines will continue to put forth the necessary work to make their country progress.”

St. Vincent and the Grenadines gained independence from Great Britain on October 27th 1979.
