St. Kitts fashion events launched at St. Kitts Marriott Resort
(ZIZ News) — It was a small, intimate gathering at the St. Kitts’ Marriott Resort on Wednesday when the St. Kitts fashion events was launched during a press conference.
The one hour event was chaired by co-producer Kyra Griffin and featured remarks by her partner Winnielle Pereira, chief executive officer of the St. Kitts tourism authority Racquel Brown, chairman and construction director of Silver Reef Sebastian Mottram and local fashion designer Yakima Daniel of Kiwie Dan Couture.
Pereira, known as model and organiser by many, used the opportunity to give an overview of St. Kitts fashion events.
“St. Kitts fashion events is a movement that is geared to promote our island, our beautiful island St. Kitts, our artists in the art of fashion and everything about our island and our people through the art of fashion. St. Kitts fashion events will be producing upscale, sophisticated fashion events which is a platform for our designers to showcase their work. Also, what is very very important when producing fashion events is to ensure that we market our island and our talent and therefore, we have partnered and will continue to partner with magazines and fashion bloggers, people within the industry that will help us to promote what it is we are doing, again our artists, our island.”
St. Kitts fashion events is already working on its first official event, renaissance, which is scheduled for November 23rd at 7pm.
For local designer Yakima Daniel the upcoming fashion event will help her to further promote her already popular brand.
“I am very proud to be a part of this fashion event. It will not only help me to build brand awareness and equity but also help St. Kitts and Nevis, the Federation on a whole to get more awareness. I know we have the athletes who help us but it’s time for the designers to come out and help St. Kitts build our tourism, increase our import and export, more money spending in the economy which will boost it. So, i’m really grateful and hope that we can get this to be an annual event so we can have St. Kitts fashion week.”
Kiwie dan couture, according to Daniel, focuses on professional women’s wear and casual men’s wear.
