The stage is set for the 3rd Annual St. Kitts Run and Family Walk

Basseterre, St. Kitts – Plans are well underway for the 3rd staging of the St. Kitts Run and Family Walk to be held within the next seven (7) days, on Saturday 6th October 2012.

2011 Christopher Children’s Home and Service League Fun Walk/Run

According to a member of the Organizing Committee, “all efforts to host this year’s event are at an advanced stage. The team has been working hard to ensure that this major fundraiser to benefit the St. Christopher Children’s Home is a success.”

He further added that despite the economic challenges several business houses and civic minded individuals have come forward to support this family oriented activity, recognizing the need to ‘give back’ to a worthy cause.

The event is open to persons of all ages and will be held at the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club and feature a two (2) kilometer Family Walk and a five (5) kilometer Run.

Immediately following the completion of the course, the St. Kitts Marriott Resort and the Royal Beach Casino will host a BBQ and Fun Fair. This includes a series of activities for young children, such as, bouncing castles, and face painting, complemented by music from a popular disc jockey.

The annual affair is part of the St. Christopher Children’s Home and Service League’s agenda to promote and foster healthy lifestyles. It brings together a wide cross-section of the Community for an afternoon of recreation and entertainment to raise much needed funds to sustain ongoing programmes for the children under their guidance.
