President of The St.Kitts Nevis Students Association of Cave Hill Campus, Azard Gumbs

Bassetere, St.Kitts, Aug 2 2011 – If you’re planning on enrolling in the University Of The West Indies in Barbados then you may want to check out an upcoming orientation meeting being hosted The St.Kitts Nevis Students Association Of Cave Hill Campus.

The orientation meeting will be held on Wednesday August 10 at 5:30 at the University Of The West Indies Distance Learning Center at Fortlands.

Association president Azard Gumbs told ZIZ the meeting will give incoming students a chance to meet and interact with other association members and past students.

“We want to creat that sort of environment where incoming students can find out information such as how many Kittitians are on-campus, how many Nevisians are on campus. We’re trying to be our brother’s keeper and make their experience at Cave Hill the best experience possible,” he said.

Once the new term has started the association plans to hold a week of activities to celebrate the unique aspects of st.kitts and nevis; such as our local foods.

“The students from the campus will have a chance to taste some of our local dishes like saltfish, goat water etc. It’s a chance to share some of the aspects that are unique to us,” he said.

The week of activities will be held from September 18 – 25 at the UWI Cave Hill Campus in Barbados.
