The department of youth empowerment is inviting persons to volunteer for a major beach cleanup activity this Saturday starting at 7 am.
According to Information from the Department, the areas to be cleared include Pump Bay, Alley Bay, Cleverly Hill Bay and School Bay – all in Sandy Point.
Youth Officer said they felt it necessary to clean up the area to provide a clean safe space for persons to enjoy themselves.
Marecia Pemberton explained how this event ties in with the recent youth residential camp and it’s theme.
A similar beach clean up event was held in keys. Volunteers are encouraged to register with the Department for Saturday’s activity to help facilitate the coordination of work assignments and the resources that will be needed.
Registration will be done at the Department of Youth Empowerment, top floor of The Cable building on Cayon Street.
