Computer lab for Beach Allen
(ZIZ News) — The Beach Allen Primary School has received a new computer lab, donated by the Rotary Club of Liamuiga.
The new lab was handed over during a presentation ceremony at the school on Friday in the presence of Rotarians, ministry officials, teachers, students and the school’s past and present principals. .
Speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Lisa Pistana commended the Rotary Club Of Liamuiga for the “significant donation”.
She urged the students of the school to take care of the equipment.
“It would be remiss of me if I did not, on behalf of the Ministry Of Education, extend profound gratitude for this significant donation. We value our continued partnership with our schools and most certainly welcome your support. Students, we are saying that you should not take this kind gesture for granted and the fact that out of all our primary schools in the federation that beach allen primary school was chosen you should consider yourselves very lucky and be very lucky and be very grateful as such,” she said.
According to president of the Rotary Club of Liamuiga, Tuffida Stewart the donation forms part of the Rotary Club’s Youth Development Initiative.
She said, “It is evident that as part of our club’s youth development initiatives a key focus is literacy and that includes computer literacy. As we attempt to keep up with the fast pace of technology, it is no longer a question of if one is computer literate instead, it is when and therefore the Rotary Club Of Liamuiga believes that the when is now.”
The newly donated computer lab includes a server, 11 workstations and a U.P.S.
Funds to establish the lab came from a district grant applied for by the Rotary Club of Liamuiga from the Rotary Foundation, the projects division of Rotary International (RI).
Other assistance came from the direct contribution of the Rotary Club of Liamuiga.
