Credit Union Week Continues

(ZIZ News) – The St. Kitts Co-operative Credit Union is getting ready to host a major public awareness drive on Thursday.

Staff of the Credit Union, flagged by the different cooperatives in St. Kitts, will march through the streets of Basseterre as part of Credit Union Week.

Speaking on Monday’s edition of “Co-Operatives in Focus” on ZIZ Radio, Marketing and Human Resource Manager, Julie Charles said they want to educate the public on the benefits of being part of a co-operative.

She said, “We need to let people know that there are benefits to being a part of a cooperative; not just the St. Kitts Co-operative Credit Union but a cooperative. This is about pooling your resources together to get further along in life. So I want people to understand this is something that you need to be involved in or to get involved.”

Charles said a Health and Wellness Fair has been planned for Friday 16th.

“We’re going to have the nurses there and they are going to check your pressure and they are going to do your sugar for free. That is the free part. So when you are finished doing your business inside the Credit Union, just ease outside in our parking lot and our nurses will be happy to assist you. Of course we’re going to have some of our caterers out there, you can have a light lunch and take it back to the office,” she noted.

On Saturday, members of the St. Kitts Co-operative Credit Union will be engaged in a sports event at the TDC Grounds at the C.A. Paul Southwell Industrial Site.
