Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 31st, 2021 (ZIZ News) Potential jobs are on the horizon as the federation looks to solar power as a renewable form of electrical energy.
That’s according Utilities Minister Hon. Shawn Richards.
In recent years, the government and Le Clanche have inked deals to supply the St. Kitts Electricity Company with solar energy that will be supplied to the country’s electrical grid.
In giving an update on those agreements, Minister Richards said that Le Clanche is expected to begin groundwork shortly.
Job creation and training will be an aspect of the solar farm in St. Kitts-Nevis.
Minister Richards encouraged the public to position themselves to learn about, and become employed in the energy sector, so they can positively impact the generation of solar power on the island.
Foundational work is expected to commence within the next quarter of this year.
