PRESS RELEASE

Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 5th 2013 — The general public is hereby notified that the violations by vendors within the prescribed areas of Port Zante and other prescribed areas of the Federation will be enforced to the fullest extent of the law beginning 6 September 2013 by members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.

Primate Petting Vendors, commonly referred to as Monkey Vendors, will not be permitted in authorised areas of Port Zante, and only those who are certified will be permitted on the property. A price list of the amounts a Primate Petting Vendor is permitted to charge will be publicly posted for all to see before transactions are conducted. Primate Petting Vendors are not permitted to be in the welcome area before 3 PM, and are never permitted to be in the marina area.

Violations will result in arrest.

It must also be noted that Pedal Cycle Vendors and Aloes Vera Massagers are not permitted to ply their trade in Port Zante and can be arrested if they refuse to leave after receiving warning from the police or the Island Constables at Port Zante.

The general public is also warned that unlicensed vending in the prescribed areas during the presence of a cruise ship is a violation of the relevant ACTS and can result in arrest.
