Morton Goal Not Enough as SKN Draw Bonaire

St. Kitts and Nevis controlled the first half but were held to a 1–1 draw by Bonaire, leaving the Young Sugar Boys needing wins in their final two group games.

WILLEMSTAD, Curaçao — St. Kitts and Nevis were unable to hold on for a second consecutive win on Friday, drawing 1–1 with Bonaire in their third Group B match at the 2026 CONCACAF U-20 Qualifiers.

In-form striker Savi-K Morton broke the deadlock in the first half, giving SKN a deserved lead heading into the interval. It was Morton’s second goal of the tournament, having also found the net in Wednesday’s 3–0 demolition of the Cayman Islands.

However, Bonaire battled back to equalise in the second half, denying Head Coach Bruno Kalonji’s side a crucial three points.

“A strong performance and plenty of positives to take from our 1–1 result. We took the lead, created good chances, and showed growth in key areas. While we would’ve liked to see it out, the effort, attitude, and togetherness were clear throughout. We keep building and pushing forward as we prepare for this weekend’s matchup against Jamaica. Locked in and ready for the next challenge.”

SKN now sit with four points from three games. With Jamaica — the group’s top side — next up on Sunday at 8:00 PM, followed by Turks and Caicos on Tuesday, the path to winning Group B remains narrow but alive.
