Zack Nisbett’s Emancipation To Independence Exhibition Now Open To The Public

Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 14 , 2020 (ZIZ News):As the country celebrates Independence, Cultural Preservationist, Winston “Zack” Nisbett M.H. is inviting members of the public to view his current exhibition entitled Emancipation to Independence –“Down Memory Lane” at his Historical-Cultural Library & Museum at the Buckley’s Estate.

Nisbett said the exhibition aims to reflect on the history and transformation of the country through its more prolific personalities.

“It is a form of taking you down memory lane to reflect on the good old days and the transformation as to where we came from – those persons who have made us what we are today through their progressive thinking, their creativity, their artistry, historically, culturally and socially.”

He spoke of some of various exhibits people can expect when they visit.

“You would see the flour bag, flour came in from St. Vincent at one time and rather than throwing away the bags, the bags were turned into clothing.”

He also explained the importance for the exhibition noting that we need to know who we are.

“Our people they need to be more affiliated to our entire historical and cultural development. We need to know who we are, where we came from and the persons who brought us to where we are persons like the late Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw, Sir Joseph Nathaniel France, James Matthews Sebastian, Edgar Challenger and those foundation members and beyond.”

The Emancipation to Independence –“Down Memory Lane” exhibition will be open to the public until September 20th between the hours of 10am and 6pm, Mondays to Sundays.
