Florida Memorial University Announces New Board of Trustees Members

(BLACK PR WIRE) – MIAMI GARDENS, FL [September 18, 2013] – Continuing in the pursuit of excellence, Florida Memorial University (FMU) proudly welcomes four new members to the institution’s Board of Trustees.

Newly appointed Board of Trustees members include (in alpha order):

Ms. Viera Galloway, a senior at FMU and the president of the Student Government Association. Ms. Galloway is a native of the Caribbean Island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. She is currently seeking a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with a concentration in Broadcast Media. Additionally, Ms. Galloway is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society, and most noted, an appointed member of the Independent Colleges and Universities Presidential Fellows Program, whose advocacy includes securing the FRAG for students. Ms. Galloway is the Managing Editor of The Lion’s Tale, the official newspaper of Florida Memorial University.

The other newly appointed members are Ms. Virginia P. Hayes, a seasoned business professional with over 20 years of knowledge in executive support and office system management, Mr. William C. McCormick, Jr. is currently the CEO of two successful organizations in Sunrise, Florida and Mr. Sergio Pereira who is currently the President of Meridian International Group, Inc.

Located in the City of Miami Gardens, Florida Memorial University is a private, historically Black institution offering 42 undergraduate degree programs and four graduate degree programs to a culturally diverse student body.
