Food Voucher Redemption Date Extended To October 31st, 2021

BASSETERRE, St Kitts: October 5th, 2021The Social Security Board advises recipients of the Food Voucher Initiative of an extension to the expiry date. Vouchers are redeemable up to October 31st at both Ram’s  Supermarket and Valu Mart IGA.

In July 2021, Social Security allocated $250 000 to a Food Voucher  Initiative as a corporate social response to the plight of the insured populace whose income has been adversely impacted by the outbreak of the covid 19 virus.

Ram’s Supermarket and Horsford Valu Mart collaborated with Social  Security in the execution of this program. Both supermarkets provided at least 20% of the food vouchers and put measures in place to facilitate the operation. A total of $275 000 was expended on this program benefitting 1375 households throughout St Kitts Nevis.

The Social Security Board encourages recipients to redeem the vouchers before the October 31st expiry date.

We take this opportunity to express appreciation to both Rams  Supermarket and Valu Mart IGA for their tangible support in the execution of this exercise.

The Board implores the general public to continue to adhere to the established protocols, including the use of non-pharmaceutical measures and inoculation to keep us all healthy and safe.
