Cayon High Netball Thanks Speaker Blanchette

BASSETERRE – Former student of the Cayon High School and now Speaker of the St. Kitts and Nevis National Assembly, Hon. Lanein Blanchette, and here mother, Mrs. Hilarine Blanchette, has been thanked by her alma mater for donating two sets of netball bids to the Faclon Netball Team.

“For some time, our girls have displayed outstanding talent and grit on the court, making their school and community proud in several netball tournaments. Yet this year, despite their skill, their hearts, and their winning spirit, we found ourselves without one of the most basic necessities—bibs. Every match, our Falcons had to borrow just to participate,” the Cayon High School said in a statement.

“But today, that changed:” the CHS said, adding: “Hon. Blanchette and her family saw the need and responded without hesitation. Because of their kindness, our athletes can now step onto the court fully clad, confident, and united in their brand-new Falcon bibs, all thanks to this tremendous act of love and support.”

The school noted that netball runs deeply in the Blanchette family, pointing out that the Hon. Blanchette has played the sport throughout her life, and her passion for youth, sportsmanship, and community development shone brightly through this thoughtful donation.

“Her legacy is now beautifully woven into the history and future of the Cayon High School Netball Team.”

Expressing “our students’ smiles showed pure joy, pride, and inspiration,” the school thanked Hon. Lanein Blanchette, her mother, Mrs. Hilarine Blanchette and the entire Blanchette family, “for uplifting our students, for believing in them, and for investing in their growth. May God continue to bless you richly for the seeds of generosity, pride, and community spirit you continue to plant.”

“We promise to honour your support, not just by wearing these bibs with pride, but by working hard and winning championships in your honour.Non Multa Sed Multum — Not Quantity but Quality!,” the school’s statement concluded.

Miss Blanchette, who was elected Speaker of the National Assembly in October 2022 is an Attorney-at-Law.

She is Lead Counsel at Blanchette Law Chambers, proud daughter of Cayon and lifelong netballer, together with her amazing mom, Mrs. Hilarine Blanchette, netball coach and enthusiast.
