Champions Old Road Face Lodge As Premier League Returns

BASSETERRE — Defending champions MFCR Old Road United Jets face 607 Construction Lodge Patriots tonight, opening the fourth week of action in the SKNFA/National Bank Group Premier League, after a break for the CONCACAF Nation’s League.

Old Road is seventh with three points after the team lost their first two matches. They then beat TGE Dieppe Bay Eagles 8-3, a game in which captain Tiquanny Williams scored six goals. Williams then scored eight times in four CONCACAF Nations League matches for the Sugar Boyz. The Lodge Patriots are still looking for their first point. They have scored twice and conceded 12 goals.

St. Peters lost for the first time that same week, a 3-2 defeat to Village.

The weekend closes at 7:30 p.m. with Cayon against St. Paul’s. Cayon are eighth with two points from draws against St. Peters and Village, followed by a 4-0 loss to Newtown. St. Paul’s beat Garden Hotspurs 3-0 in their last outing, with Keithroy Freeman scoring twice.
