Scores and Highlights from the FA Cup Tourney
607 Construction Lodge Patriots’ difficult season in the SKNFA Premier League took a frustrated turn last Saturday, when Division One side Mantab beat them 5-2 in the FA Cup preliminary round.
Lodge earned promotion by winning Division One in 2025-’26, but they have yet to pick up a point in the Premier League. After three matches of the 2026-’27 SKNFA/National Bank Group Premier League season they have lost every game, scoring two goals and conceding 12, and they sit 10th of 10 teams. They opened with a 5-1 defeat to TGE Dieppe Bay Eagles on Sept. 5, lost 5-1 to Development Bank St. Peters on Sept. 13, and were beaten 2-0 by SOL Island Auto Conaree on Sept. 17. Javern Matthew and Nicario Browne scored their only league goals.
The FA Cup match followed a similar pattern. Eversley Davis put Mantab ahead in the 12th minute in Saddler’s, and Alphonso Francis scored in the 27th and 43rd minutes for a 3-0 halftime lead.
Lodge’s Aldren Gumbs pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute. Kirae Jarvis restored Mantab’s three-goal margin in the 81st, and Ron Johnson scored again for Lodge two minutes later. Jarvis, Mantab’s captain, sealed the win with his second goal in the 90th.
Mantab finished fifth in Division One last season. Lodge won that division with 15 wins in 18 matches, and Matthew was the league’s top scorer with 24 goals.
The FA Cup is an exhibition knockout tournament featuring all Division One and Premier League clubs, with a single loss ending a team’s run. Three other preliminary-round results came in over the weekend.
Mother Becky Saddlers United beat Rivers FC 6-0 last Sunday. Raheem Joseph scored a hat-trick, with goals in first-half stoppage time and in the 52nd and 86th minutes. Doniesh Higgins opened the scoring in the ninth minute and Evroy Barnes added another in the 55th. Rivers defender Triscan Hensley put through his own net in the 41st minute, and Saddlers led 3-0 at the break. Fitzrald Hendrickson of Rivers and Terrell Wattley and Euvawne Wattley of Saddlers were each shown a yellow card.
Also on that Sunday, ELCO Ltd Security Forces United defeated CIBC Village Galaxy 8-2. Village Galaxy finished third in the Division One table last season. The SKNFA had not released an official match report at the time of writing, so scorers and other details were not available.
Last Saturday Saturday Tropical Blossom Hotspring Bath United beat Conaree Fireballs International 3-0. Kanaicy Dorsett scored in the 24th and 31st minutes and Lejewan Jeffers added a third in the 43rd, and the second half was scoreless.
