ZIZ News…July 9, 2010 – The Council of the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park Society is pleased to announce that Mr. Cameron Gill has been offered and has accepted the position of General Manager of the Society.
Cameron Gill, a native of St. Kitts and Nevis, obtained his secondary education at the Basseterre High School and the St. Kitts Business College. He worked at the Treasury Department for eleven years and also served for a short time in 1997 at the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park as a Museum, Gift Shop and Gate Attendant.
In 2003, he graduated with a BA in History with Archaeology from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, then returned to the Federation where he worked for four years as a teacher of History, Agricultural Science and Caribbean Studies at the Charlestown Secondary School and Sixth Form College. While in Nevis, he was a volunteer with the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society.
He returned to UWI Cave Hill in 2007 and graduated two years later with an MA degree with Distinction in Heritage Studies. In Barbados he served for three years as an Archaeological Intern with the Barbados Museum and Historical Society; and worked in the Educational Media Services Department at the Cave Hill Campus and as a Research Intern with the Coastal Management Unit, Barbados.
Mr. Gill has been engaged since 1 June 2010 as General Manager Designate, and will assume full responsibility on 1 September 2010 as the term of the current interim Consultant General Manager comes to an end.
