Conaree Seeks First Win Against Lodge
BASSETERRE — Newly-promoted 607 Construction Lodge Patriots goes up against SOL Island Auto Conaree FC tonight, with both sides still chasing their first win of the 2026-’27 SKNFA/National Bank Group Premier League season.
Lodge Patriots enter the match without a point through two fixtures, having been outscored 10-2 in defeats to TGE Dieppe Bay Eagles (5-1) and Development Bank St. Peters FC (5-1). The club arrives in the Premier League on the back of a dominant Division 1 title run, having been crowned 2025/2026 SKNFA Division 1 Champions on April 24 with a campaign that saw them finish top of the table with a 15-0-3 record, 69 goals scored and a league-best +46 goal difference under head coach Eldean Huggins. Forward Javern Matthew, who scored twice in that title-clinching match, finished as the Division 1 season’s top scorer with 24 goals and has already found the net once in the Premier League, converting Lodge’s lone goal in the 62nd minute of their Week One loss to Dieppe Bay.
Conaree FC sit seventh in the early Premier League table with a single point, having opened the season with a 3-0 defeat to SL Horsford St. Paul’s United, before salvaging a 2-2 draw against Dieppe Bay Eagles in Week Two. Errol O’Loughlin has been the club’s attacking spark, scoring both goals in the last match — netting in the 19th and 47th minutes as Conaree built a 2-1 halftime lead before Dieppe Bay pulled level. The result offered a measure of recovery for a side that failed to score at all in its opener against St. Paul’s.
Thursday’s meeting pits two clubs still searching for their first victory of the campaign, with Lodge Patriots looking to translate their Division 1 dominance into a result at the top flight and Conaree hoping O’Loughlin’s early-season form can produce a first win rather than a share of the points.
