ZIZ News…June 8, 2010 – On Monday 7th June 2010, Mr. Jason Browne, country manager of FedEx donated ten (10) reflective traffic safety vests to the Traffic Department to be used by our Traffic Wardens.

Mr. Browne indicated that FedEx is a company that is serious about road safety, and noticed that a number of our Traffic Wardens perform their duties at the schools without safety vests, which he believe are important for the safety of the Traffic Wardens, our children and motorists. He said further, that like most companies, FedEx is impacted by the global economic crisis, but feels that it is part of its social responsibility to assist the public in whatever way possible, hence the decision to make the donation.

Insp. Cromwell Henry, Head of the Traffic Department thanked FedEx on behalf of the Licensing Authority, for their keen interest in Road Safety and their timely donation of the safety vests, which will definitely improve the visibility of the Traffic Wardens at the school crossings, and enhance safety for all road users. Insp. Henry also used the opportunity to encourage other corporate citizens to exercise a similar social responsibility, to improve road safety in our Federation.

Cpl. Carlene Phipps accepted the safety vests on behalf of the Traffic Department.
