Day two of ‘TONIC SOL-FA’ music workshop a success!

ZIZ News…June 11, 2010 – On Tuesday June 8th Music Specialist Nigel Williams from the St. Kitts Department of Culture opened up his “Tonic Sol-Fa” Music Workshop to a packed house in Basseterre Senior High School Auditorium.

Tonic Sol-fa is a music technique that focuses the student’s attention on relating sounds to notation in a systematic way.

The audience was filled with attentive singers, musicians and music lovers all ready to improve their appreciation for music by learning the “Tonic Sol-Fa” technique in just a few short days.

Nigel Williams expressed that, “I’m so happy that so many persons are interested, because like I said it is something that we had right under our grip and we allow it to slip away. And then we find that a lot of our students now today are struggling with intervals and things like that. Once they master this technique the problems of intervals and pitches will be totally mastered.”
