Dominica police investigating two murders

Roseau, Dominica (CMC) — Police were on Tuesday searching for the killers of two men, who were murdered on Monday, the first killings the island reported for the new year.

Police public relations officer, Inspector John Carbon, said that Trevor St Jean, 36, was shot dead by an unidentified person who was dressed in white on Monday night. He said the killing took place on the outskirts of the capital.

In the other incident, 51-year-old Rufus Tyson of Bataca, a village located in the Kalinago Territory, was stabbed in the neck during the early hours on Monday.

Last year, 12 people were murdered in Dominica.
