Duggins Co-Chairs Agriculture Talks in Nigeria

ABUJA: Minister Of Agriculture The Hon. Samal Duggins is representing St. Kitts And Nevis in Nigeria, where he is playing a leading role in regional discussions on food security and agriculture.

Minister Duggins is part of the national delegation led by Prime Minister The Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew to the Afri-Caribbean Investment Summit in Abuja.

At the summit, he is serving as Co-Chair for Agriculture and Food Security, leading talks focused on agricultural transformation, innovation, and sustainable development.

“I am honoured to be co-chairing the Agriculture and Food Security track at the Aquarian Consult Afri-Caribbean Summit in Abuja, Nigeria, a responsibility I carry with great pride on behalf of St. Kitts and Nevis,” Duggins said. “Equally important is the presence of my fellow OECS Agriculture Ministers, whose participation reflects a shared commitment to advancing food security, innovation, and resilience across our region.”

“I am especially pleased to have played a role in coordinating and bringing together this strong OECS presence, ensuring that our region speaks with a unified voice at this important Summit.”

His participation also brings the perspective of small island developing states into the global conversation, with a focus on building more resilient and modern food systems.

Minister Duggins also helped to coordinate the participation of several Caribbean agriculture ministers, strengthening regional representation and collaboration at the summit.

• Hon. Roland Royer — Dominica
• Hon. Israel Bruce — St. Vincent and the Grenadines
• Hon. John Osborne — Montserrat
• Hon. Karl Dawson — Virgin Islands
• Hon. Kyle Hodge — Anguilla
• Hon. Lennox J. Andrews — Grenada
-Dr. Didacus Jules, Director General of the OECS

The engagement extends beyond policy, with students and cultural practitioners from St. Kitts-Nevis also taking part in exchange programmes and creative showcases in Nigeria.

Officials say this approach is designed to connect government, regional partnerships and people-to-people engagement, as the federation continues to expand its international presence.
