ST. KITTS, JUNE 29, 2010 (CUOPM) – A joint meeting of the Cabinets of the Federal Government of St. Kitts and Nevis and the Nevis Island Administration took place under the joint chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Hon. Sam Condor and Premier Hon. Joseph Parry.

The meeting was held at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort and Royal Beach Casino, Frigate Bay.

Deputy Prime Minister Condor apologised for the absence of Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas who is overseas.

“I spoke to him by telephone this morning and he regrets that he has to be out of the Federation at this time,” said Mr. Condor.

He noted that the joint meetings of the Cabinets have been taking place for over 10 years and a decision was recently taken that such meetings be held every quarter. Minister Condor noted that Monday’s meeting was the first for this year and is being held in the second quarter as a result of the Federal Elections earlier in the year.

Premier of Nevis, Hon. Joseph Parry congratulated the three new Federal Cabinet Ministers – Hon. Patrice Nisbett, Hon. Marcella Liburd and Hon. Glenn Phillip.
He noted that the NRP-led Nevis Island Administration will be next month celebrating the Fourth Anniversary of its return to office.

“We have worked extremely well for the last four years and I anticipate that we will continue to work well, not only now but in the next term,” said Premier Parry.
